I'm coming back!

On the 10th of December I’m finally returning to The Novello & Mamma Mia!
With a splint still protecting my finger, which isn't yet fully mended... Even so; I’m very glad to finally see the end of this injury-story and can’t wait to be singing and dancing again together with my fabulous friends.

Injury

Due to a broken finger and a tendon split in half I’ve been signed off from work for quite a while.
I’m now looking forward to returning to Novello. Hopefully I’ll be back before December.

During my time on sick-leave I’ve managed to see some brilliant shows including e.g. ’Next to Normal’ at
Stockholm Stadsteater and ’Viskar om mord’ at Lerbäcks Teater as well as another lovely improvised musical by the ever so talented cast of ’Showstopper - The Improvised Musical’
Nothing bad that doesn’t bring a bit of good as well, I guess. :)
I do however really look forward to start working again!

Good Bye Sally! Welcome Helen!

Yesterday we said good-bye to Sally Ann Triplett who has been a fabulous Donna.
She’s going on to do Viva Forever! (The Spice Girls Musical) Shall be very interesting and exciting to see this brand new creation which will be directed by our very own Paul Garrington and Produced by Judy Cramer.

Tomorrow, Monday, Helen Hobson will be belting out ’The Winner Takes It All’. She’s played Donna before (last time in 2007) and is, from what we’ve seen in rehearsals, wonderful!
Very exciting to get the chance to work with two gorgeous actors and see their individual take on the character.

First week at The Novello

The transfer is now done...
The Novello has prove to be a lovely venue for Mamma Mia! and we're all thoroughly enjoying the new playhouse which brings a totally different feel to the whole show.
More like a traditional play, but without losing out on the big party that Mamma Mia! is.

Novello Rehearsals

Mamma Mia! is moving to a new home.
Just off of Covent Garden in the Novello Theatre is where The Greek Island now will live.
The area is lovely and so is the theatre. It has a slightly different feel to it in comparison to Prince of Wales and it takes a bit getting used to.
Rehearsals are going well. Some things change, some remain the same.

The front of house looks brilliant and the new set is gorgeous and very Greek.

Method Acting in Crete

Back in the UK after a lovely week in the little village Makrigialos on Crete.
Ended up in a hotel which very well might have inspired the set design for Mamma Mia...
This floor can be seen on every Mamma Mia stage around the world. And the chairs are definitely the right ones as well!
Hopefully back at Prince of Wales with a whole new Sky tomorrow; freshly tanned and full of Greek spirit!

Visit to Sweden

A couple of days off to go to Sweden.
Lovely catch-up with family and friends.

Went to Lerbäcks Teater and witnessed a fabulous production of ’Pippi Longstocking in The Seven Seas’.
Brilliant cast and clever, almost magic, solutions with set and scene transitions.
This play marked, back in 2006, my professional debut. And it was lovely to go back and watch yet another way to put this story on a stage.

Thanks Lerbäcks Teater for all the creativity and ability to invent and reinvent ways to tell brilliant stories!
A true inspiration!

West End Live!

Another lovely week on the island got a fabulous finale with two days of performances in West End Live in front of a crowded Trafalgar Square!
Clips from the audience can be found on YouTube. Here is one of them:

Opening Night

Fabulous opening night after a bit of shaky Public Dress earlier on the day.

Thanks to everyone who came and saw the show & thanks to the wonderful London Cast of Mamma Mia! 2012/2013!
