ANDREAS GYLLANDER

Actor & Singer

Biography

I was born and raised in Örebro, Sweden.
In 2001 I ended up playing Don Kerr in a local production of A Chorus Line purely by accident. Ever since, I've had my aim towards a career on stage.
After music studies in guitar, piano & singing I went on to further studies at Umeå Musical Theatre Academy as well as The Ballet Academy in the same town in the north of Sweden, wherefrom I graduated in 2007. Alongside with this I started working professionally in the summer of 2006 at Lerbäcks Teater, an open-air theatre in Sweden.

After three years in the industry working with opera, musical-theatre, straight acting, music-arranging & composing I decided I wanted to do another year of studies. I attended the one-year PG.Dip. course in Musical Theatre at The Royal Academy of Music in London. A very intense year with a lot of great teachers and workshops with people in the industry. During this year I had the opportunity of meeting e.g. Stephen Sondheim & Jason Robert Brown.

After graduating (once again) 2010 I went on to work in the UK. In 2012 I made my West End Debut taking on the leading role Sky in Mamma Mia! at The Prince of Wales.
